Design of stadium mast
Stadium Mast is manufactured using base plate, anchor bolts and high mast shaft. All these material are passed through software analysis to ensure precise design.
Designing standard of AASHTO is followed which is “Standard Specifications for Structural Supports for Stadium Lighting and Luminaries”.
Standard design has a wind speed of 160KM/hour and Gust speed of 208 KM/hour. Customization is possible.
Finishing of stadium mast
Hot dip galvanization is on the the base plate and shaft, as per the BSEN 1461 standard, which states that coating should not be more than 120 microns.
Galvanization is also done on the anchor bolts, nuts and washers. This is according to the specifications of ASTMA153.
At the end of galvanization process, cutting, wielding or drilling is Not Done.
Materials and Shape of Stadium Mast
Continuously tapered steel is used to make the mast. This steel has polygonal shape on its sixteen sides.
Steel sheets are folded suitable to get the desired shape.
Automatic Arch Welding Machine is used for welding the sheets longitudinally.
On the basis of mast's height, shafts are made out of several segments. Herein, every segment has length not more than 14 meter and least overlap of 1.5 times across the flat of the female segment.
Fixed headframe is installed at the top of shaft, which is used for holding the flood lights. Then the inclination of headframes is done at an angle up to 15 degree to aim the lights.
